Hello everyone and welcome to the first Market Mocks blog post! I'm excited to be bringing you 2025 NFl draft content until draft day on April 24th. But first, I'd like to go over my process in compiling these boards.
There are 3 main categories that determine your grade: performance, athleticism, and projectable NFL role. Performance is how well a player played last year in college and throughout their career. Good players for multiple years will have better grades then a 1 year wonder, and a project will have lower grades than a refined player. Athleticism is based primarily off testing numbers, with measurements also taking effect. Players who don't test are significantly harmed by this metric, and players who test poorly are harmed even more. Finally, Projectable NFL role is determined by whether you do something on the football field extremely well. There are only a few roles per position group, and with elite players eating up a lot of them, there are few "medium" grades and even fewer "strong" grades in the category.
All 3 categories are weighted and combined to make the big board possible. The big board tiers are as follows: Blue Chip, High First Round, First Round, Second Round, Top 100, Early Day 3, Late Day 3, Priority UDFA. The rankings are as follows:
Blue Chip - These players were first round picks on our grades board, which combines 3 boards before being sorted. These players are top 10 picks in every respect we consider. Additionally, they have a strong projectable NFL role. There is no set number of these from year to year.
High First Round - These players were first round picks on every metric used to calculate the overall rank and have strong Projectable NFL role grades. These players are elite talents worthy of a high first round pick. There is no set number of these from year to year.
First Round - Players ranked between the end of the Blue Chips and pick 32.
Second Round - Players ranked between pick 33 and pick 64.
Top 100 - Players ranked between pick 65 and pick 100.
Early Day 3 - Players ranked between pick 101 and pick 178 (the first half of Day 3's picks).
Late Day 3 - Players ranked between pick 179 and pick 256 (the second half of Day 3's picks).
Priority UDFA - Players ranked between pick 257 and pick 350.
I will have a series of big board posts coming soon, with the first one being: Meet the Blue Chips ( + High First Round). Please follow my social pages for more draft content coming soon!
